An Independent Portfolio Analysis
This analysis reviews your investments, their performance compared to the market averages and their peers, as well as identifies the risk and costs associated with owning those investments.
A Social Security and Income Tax Analysis
This analysis is a review of your tax return, to determine if there are any tax or money savings strategies that would apply to you, including the potential reduction of the taxes paid on your Social Security benefits - if you are currently receiving benefits.
An IRA Audit
This audit would help reveal deficiencies in your IRA or retirement accounts, including the proper naming of your beneficiaries and whether or not you have the right type of investments inside your IRA for your particular situation.
An Asset Titling Audit
This audit reviews the current titling of your non-retirement accounts and assets for possible deficiencies. Some possible scenarios that may require updates to your titling is when someone has a trust but the trust is not listed as the owner of those assets or you may have assets jointly held with children or a spouse. Maybe your bank accounts don’t have the proper beneficiary designation. This audit addresses those concerns.
An Estate Planning Action Plan
Proper estate planning includes reviewing or creating a plan so that you are prepared when an illness or death strikes your family. A typical package may include wills, financial and medical powers of attorney, declarations of guardian and a HIPAA authorization. An estate planning attorney (either yours or I could refer you to several to interview) would handle the legal part of this plan.
A Lifetime Income Model
This model theoretically divides your money into different accounts and assigns job descriptions to those accounts (ex: emergency fund/liquidity, income, growth). The idea is to have your money working for you in an efficient manner at all times. By giving your investments a specific task and timeframe, this may help alleviate the stress and emotions regarding your investments.
An ‘Asset Based’ and ‘Traditional’ Long-Term Care Analysis
It is my experience that many pre-retirees or retirees do not have long-term care coverage. The #1 reason I hear is that “it is too expensive”. This analysis outlines a long-term care strategy that considers keeping as much of your assets as possible, working for you.
An “In-Force” Life Insurance Audit
If you have life insurance, do you know how long the coverage will last? Will you have to increase your premiums in the future, just to keep the policy from lapsing (not all life insurance policies are permanent)? This audit identifies the details of your existing life coverage and if applicable, an alternative will be presented.
A Property & Casualty Audit – Each year, many consumers pay their annual renewals for their property and casualty insurances such as homeowners, flood, auto, etc., without determining if they could get the same coverage for less. A review of your P&C coverages by an independent P&C agent may uncover money saving opportunities for you.
